Summer Variety Trials 2010

The sun is shining and the dog days of July are bringing the heat to southeast Colorado. That means that Hollar Seeds is in full swing of evaluating summer trials in Rocky Ford.

Our variety evaluations in the 2010 breeders’ nurseries have already begun to show promise.  Pinnacle, our new hybrid vegetable spaghetti, caught our eye because it is setting a lot of fruit onto its extremely strong, semi-bush habit plant. This variety is showing real promise for growers interested in a high quality vegetable spaghetti. 

There are numerous grey zucchini’s that have also been catching our eye. With heavy fruit sets and beautiful fruit, these grey zucchinis are something that we will have our eyes on all summer long.
