Brad Takes a Trip to Evaluate Pumpkins Across the US

From the 25th of September to the 2nd of October Brad Smith, a member of the Product Development team at Hollar Seeds, traveled around the US evaluating test plots of Hollar Seeds’ ground breaking PMR Series pumpkins.

Starting in northern Colorado Brad was able to meet one on one with pumpkin growers to get their opinions about Hollar Seeds’ PMR Series pumpkins: Camaro PMR, Corvette PMR (HSR 4721), and Mustang PMR. One grower commented on the seeming ability of our thicker rind helping prevent hail damage while another grower said “I can’t wait until next year when I have all (Camaro PMR) planted here.”

From Colorado Brad traveled to Milan, Tennessee and met up with product development agents and sales representatives from Clifton Seed, Seedway, Siegers Seed Company, Company, and Stokes Seeds. Five field trials were evaluated with each being located in a different micro-climate in the states of Tennessee, Virginia and North Carolina. All of this is organized by Allen Straw of the University of Virginia Tech Agricultural Extension Office.

Once again, as has been in years past, Hollar Seeds’ PMR Series pumpkins continue to show the top level of Powdery Mildew Resistance on the market as well have having some of the top yields in the trials.

Brad enjoys traveling and being able to spend time with sales representatives and growers to gather their opinions and insight about Hollar Seeds varieties. This is something that is among the top of the list of things that Hollar Seeds values and appreciates.
