2011 Summer Trials
From August 22nd through August 26th, Hollar Seeds held our annual field days in Rocky Ford, Colorado, where we had customers from 14 different countries in attendance.
This was a great year to see many new watermelons, both diploids and triploids, and also brand new long-shelf life melons. In addition to being able to evaluate commercial varieties, our guests were also able to see early phase varieties and give us input to help determine which are most promising for their market. This is one of the advantages of making the long trip to Rocky Ford – the opportunity to be the first to see new material and have a say in which varieties move forward.
