Edible in 42 days, the fruit are butter yellow at the edible stage, turning darker as it grows larger. The fruit can be eaten anytime after flowering up to a length of 8 inches.

The fruit have a bulb like seed cavity and a thin curving neck. The skin is often bumpy, becoming warted at larger sizes. The plant is a low growing, dense bush.
