Speckled Apple
Apple Gourd is a recent selection of Lagenaria siceraria. As its name implies its fruit are shaped like large apples, about 8-10 inches in height. Smooth skinned, green with pale green speckles at maturity the apple gourd turns tan with brown speckles when cured and dried. As with other Lagenaria gourds, this variety has an extremely vigorous plant that produces vines of 25 feet or more. For the best shape, with no "flat sides" support vines with trellis or fencing.
